DISTRIBUTORS
Creative Solutions for In-State Distribution
There are many challenges in trucking food around the third largest state. Considerations of huge distances between producer and consumer, weather extremes affecting spoilage, and lack of availability of a wide array of Montana grown food all come together to limit a sustainable in-state distribution system.
Efforts are afoot to change the manner in which food is produced, processed, and distributed within our state! Creative entrepreneurs, cooperatives and nonprofits are exploring wise connections. From the prairies of Eastern Montana to the mountains of the western part of the state, food distribution companies are examining transport processes that can work for farmers, ranchers, restaurants, institutions and markets.
It just makes sense that food grown in the state of Montana should stay in the state to feed all Montanans.
